Exhibition «MARC CHAGALL. THE CREATION OF LIGHT»

Oylau Space Cultural Space

Description

A large-scale exhibition of authentic graphic works by Marc Chagall opens its doors - one of the leading artists of the 20th century, who created an entirely original artistic language all his own. In his world, reality merges with dream, love with memory, the earthly with the eternal, and familiar subjects are transformed into poetic images filled with colour and symbol.
At the heart of the exhibition is one of Marc Chagall's most significant graphic cycles, in which his singular artistic language is revealed with particular clarity. The artist began working on it as early as the 1930s, immersing himself deeply in ancient texts and reinterpreting them through his own artistic vision.
A special section of the exhibition presents 24 works from the celebrated cycle "Jerusalem Windows," related to the monumental stained-glass windows Chagall created for the synagogue in Jerusalem. Vivid colour, symbolic imagery and free-flowing form make these works one of the master's most recognisable cycles.
Together, these works reveal that inimitable world of Chagall - recognisable, poetic, and retaining its emotional power decades on.

The exhibition is organised by the Lumiere-Hall Museum
